Hello from Holland!
The three of us are visiting Nick's little sister, Tess, and her boyfriend who live here in The Netherlands. I stayed home from a shopping trip to put Espen to bed, and so sadly missed out on getting to see a real live Dutch grocery store. I love seeing the little, everyday stuff that really gives you a feel for how people actually live, y'know? But no worries, I will get a chance to go again before we leave! After a long day on our feet in Amsterdam, it feels good to get up-close-and-personal with a real live Dutch couch.
Espen is a superstar traveler, and napped in the stroller while we did our sightseeing. When we stopped for lunch, he found himself snoozing in an Irish pub in Amsterdam while Bob Marley sang him to sleep. A little bizarre, but it worked!
Tomorrow we are off to Delft and The Hague. I will be back with some photos and a more detailed report of Amsterdam soon, but now it is time for my dinner!
What have you all been up to? I've missed hearing from you and would love an update!

What have we been doing? Working, buying a lawnmower, making dinner out of nothing, returning the trailer we had to borrow to get the mower home, food-shopping and cooking rhubarb soup. And missing thr little North family.
ReplyDeleteCan we have rhubarb soup (or crumble) when we get back? Pretty please?
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the thought of Espen napping in a pub in Amsterdam with Bob Marley. That is so awesome.
ReplyDeleteActually I have just been recovering. When we went to Amsterdam, we could just find one grocerystore in the whole city. Hope you had more luck. By the way it was a really big one.
ReplyDeleteP.S Did you go to the Reichmuseum to see "The Nightwatch"
Sounds brilliant!- some of my favourite things are the irish, bob marley and, since I'm pretty much old enough to sneak in- pubs!
